Dr. Anthony J. Berni joined St. Charles Orthopaedic Surgery Associates in June 1998. He is board-certified by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. Throughout his career, Dr. Berni has published articles for “Emergency Medicine” and “Foot & Ankle Int.” along with being a key presenter at the prestigious American Academy of Pediatrics and Orthopaedic Research Society. In 1999, Dr. Berni served as Team Physician for the Missouri River Otters professional Hockey team for four years. Additionally, in 1994, Dr. Berni served as Team Physician for St. Louis University, NCAA Division 1, Men’s Soccer Team for four years.

Dr. Berni grew up in the St. Louis area and has been a resident of St. Charles County since 2007. Dr. Berni graduated cum laude from Missouri University School of Medicine in Columbia, Missouri in 1993. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at St. Louis University Hospital in 1998. He served as the Administrative Chief Resident for St. Louis University Department of Orthopedics in 1997 and 1998. During his residency he obtained specialized training in single incision endoscopic carpal tunnel releases and continues to treat a high volume of patients with this minimally invasive technique for carpal tunnel syndrome.

Dr. Berni has now been practicing for over fifteen years in the St. Charles area and performs surgical treatment of a wide variety of abnormalities of the musculoskeletal system. He performs many minimally invasive surgeries such as arthroscopy of the shoulder and knee as well as the aforementioned endoscopic carpal tunnel releases. He has a particular interest in minimally invasive and outpatient joint replacement surgery including partial knee replacements.

Dr. Berni’s vast experience with the musculoskeletal system allows him to provide exceptional healthcare to his patients consisting of a wide range of services, improving his patients’ quality of life.
